The iPhone 3G Review
written by: Fay Smart
When it comes to innovation excellence, Apple is leading the way. Everyone wants to own their products, especially the recently released smartphones, but not all of us can afford them. However, you should be aware that the market is full of affordable iPhone models, and iPhone 3G is the perfect example. In this article, we focus on all the reasons why this second generation iPhone is still a great device.
iPhone 3G’s body is slightly thicker than its edges, which makes it feel smaller than it actually is. The hardware buttons located around the sides are chrome colored, and the plastic finish on the flip side is strong, making it look durable. Its glossy finish allows for a more secure hold, and it fits comfortably in one hand.
2. Lovely Display
The 3.5-inch screen is bright, sharp, bold and clean. It brings photos, videos and other content to life. If you enjoy browsing the web, playing games, chatting and sharing photos/videos through the social media networks and more, you’ll enjoy using your iPhone 3G. All the apps are well organized on the interface and are easy to access.
3. Excellent Browser
iPhone 3G comes with Mobile Safari, which is considered to be the best mobile browser ever. It renders web pages quickly and features an excellent scaling that makes the web page texts easy to read. With the intuitive interface, 3G internet access, Wi-Fi support, and multi-touch controls, browsing the web on iPhone 3G with Safari is an amazing experience.
iPhone 3G utilizes Assisted GPS, which uses nearby mobile phone masts, GPS satellites, and Wi-Fi hotspots to show your location. Whether you are on foot or in a car, it takes a few seconds for Google Maps to load and indicate your location, thanks to the 3G network. The GPS enables various apps to use Google Map data for location sensitive information and Geo-tagging. Furthermore, it can be helpful when you are lost in the city, or on the road.
5. Faster Internet Access
Alongside GSM and EGDE support, the 3G network makes web browsing faster richer and more efficient. Other apps that function based on the availability of the network, such as YouTube and Facebook are also faster. Moreover, you will be able to access the internet while making a voice call. This is very important especially when you need to check for some information on the web while in a conversation.
6. Amazing iPhone 2.0 Software
iPhone 3G comes with iPhone 2.0 software and runs hundreds of third party apps, especially the ones created with iPhone SDK. It includes support for Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync that provides over the air email, calendar, and contact syncing, remote wipe as well as Cisco IPsec VPN for encrypted access to corporate networks.
You’ll be able to purchase and download apps from App Store. Free apps are also available for download, and the app is programmed to notify you when application updates are available. App Store can actually be accessed from anywhere since it works over Wi-Fi and Cellular networks.
